I make films, photographs and sculptures. My work explores a sense of contact in an encounter with images and considers ideas of performance, difficulty, and dynamics of looking and being looked at.

My practice currently takes an interest in the requests images and spectators make of each other and has a focus on the material properties of images and image-making technologies; their texture; and their relation to imaged bodies.

In the writers’ room, I’m making a short piece of noir detective writing that traverses images and text. The work is about the desire to know something through contact, desire across media, and how close looking might be to touching. I’m thinking about encounters with images and the photograph as a gesture that hails the viewer to ‘look here’. About sensory knowledge and a material engagement with images, about the photograph as sculpture, as cast; an impression made in emulsion to carry and hold a form on to re-encounter.

I’m going to turn the space into a working darkroom, and the project exists across a series of collaged evidence pinboards, moving image, and writing.
