Alex is a sonic artist and researcher based in Leeds and London. His artistic practice involves listening as a practice of world-making, a way of thinking through social, material and ecological relations.
During his time at the Writer’s Room, Alex will be working on a body of writing and text scores exploring sonic ecologies.
He’ll be drawing from his involvement with Listening With collective, a sound-practitioner collective dedicated to exploring and forming sonic ways of becoming-with nonhuman others, and from reflections on his participation in the Quiet Urgency symposium at Central St Martins.
This residency will contribute to future publications as well as a public sonic art work in Leeds, to be installed in 2025.
